Academy of Medical Sciences – Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers

Doctors with PhD/MD who are research-active Clinical Lecturers, hold NTN/NTN(A) and remain in higher specialty training.

Very specifically pre-CCT CLs. CCT normally no earlier than 3 months before project start. Not eligible if already holding substantial fellowship/project funding. Senior Clinical Lecturers excluded.

Up to £40,000 over 1–2 years for research costs. Does not pay applicant salary or research staff salaries.

Twice yearly: Jan–Mar and Jul–Sep.
