Welcome to the new members of BIA Council!

9 Sep 2020 biaeditorlaura

Council are very pleased to announce that, after the delays caused by the COVID pandemic, we ran this year’s council election process with the support of UK Engage.

Nominations were received for each post up for renewal, and for each post the nominations were uncontested. See confirmation document.

Rejeka Lazarus from Bristol joins the Association’s Principal Officers as the new Meetings Secretary. She takes over from Hiten Thaker who has done a fantastic job in this role organising numerous successful BIA and FIS meetings during his time in the post.

We are delighted that Chris Chiu from London is re-elected as Scientific and Research Secretary, as are Anna Checkley (London) and Jo Herman (London) as joint Clinical Services Secretary (ID), and Natasha Ratnaraja (Coventry) as joint Clinical Services Secretary (Med Micro).

We welcome two new training grade members to council; Dinesh Aggarwal (London) with responsibility for professional affairs and Francesca Knapper (Bristol) for meetings. Their contribution to the Association, especially as we adjust to new ways of working in response to COVID, will be vital.

These posts will be taken up following the BIA AGM 2020.

Please do join us for our first ever virtual Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 29th September, 4 - 5pm which will be held via Microsoft Teams

REGISTRATION DETAILS
Please email BIA@hartleytaylor.co.uk to register your place (BIA members only), access details will be emailed out prior to the meeting

Its important for the health of the association that a good number of members turn out for the AGM and contribute to the discussions. It’s the opportunity to hear about what the association has been doing and will be doing over the coming year.
