Paediatric Infection Control Research Network

19 Mar 2019 biaeditorlaura

This newly formed network is designed to be a multi-professional forum aimed at individuals working in paediatric practice with an interest in infection prevention.

Most research in infection prevention focuses on the adult population and published guidance often is not designed specifically with the paediatric population in mind. The purpose of the group is to identify key areas of research which could lead to specific guidance linked to paediatrics and infection prevention as well as beginning to establish a firm evidence base within this area.

As part of this work a survey has been created and distributed to those working within paediatric IPC to discuss the current assurance measures in place around infection prevention: link to survey

The group will hold its first meeting 14th May 2019 at The Studio, Birmingham, B2 5EP. The purpose of this meeting is to provide a multi-professional networking opportunity for those working in paediatrics and the results of the survey will be discussed and opportunities for research explored.
