RIPL Training Day
The Rare and Imported Pathogens Laboratory at PHE Porton provides a clinical diagnostic service for unusual and/or imported pathogens including arboviruses, haemorrhagic fever viruses and a number of Hazard Group 3 bacteria such as Rickettsia, Coxiella burnetii and Bacillus anthracis. RIPL is the frontline laboratory providing diagnostics for the Imported Fever Service following its inception in June 2012. On Tuesday 01 May 2018, RIPL will be holding a workshop at PHE Porton near Salisbury for Infection ConsultantTrainees and Clinical Scientists. This day is primarily intended for Trainees in Infectious Diseases, Microbiology and/or Virology who would like to learn more about what RIPL does, but may be of interest to Clinical Scientists working in Infection specialties as well.
