Doctor, I've been bitten
A training session for trainees and consultants, specifically within infectious diseases and microbiology, to raise awareness and understanding of a range of zoonotic diseases we see in travellers and in UK residents. The common theme for the day is the association with an animal bite. Some of the more controversial aspects of Lyme disease will be discussed, as well as diseases that are commonly missed in the travelling population. We will end the day with the mysteries of animal bites and their management when the bite itself is the issue from envenomation or consequential infection.
This training session is organised by RCPath and PHE
